The Center is a non profit entity that is engaged in providing local early warnings on typhoon and flooding for Bicol Region. To enhance the deliver of its services, TPC is raising fund for the purchase of various equipments.

This Portable Doppler radar will help deliver accurate information with regards typhoon and torrential rains, such as the intensity of precipitation, location of precipitation, direction and movement. The radar's effective range in diameter of coverage is 450 kms (Bicol to Manila area). We are raising Seven Million Pesos ( P 7,000,000.00) for the radar equipment.

Davis Vantage Pro 2 is a wireless weather station that measures humidity, temperature, and wind speed. It could provide accurate data for forecasting. The weather station costs only P65,000 pesos.

10 units of VHF Radios, that shall be used for typhoon or disaster response. VHF radios shall be beneficial in linking TPC's early warning system to the concerned communities, other sectors and decisionmakers. VHF Radios shall enhance the relay/communication of critical information during disaster especially to those who are in the coastal and other remote areas. A unit costs about P 6,000.00 only.
